This sage is wild-grown in California and hand-harvested by Native American-owned companies that seek to minimize the environmental impact of their operations. The sage is dried naturally and tied in 100% cotton thread.

Provenance

Native Americans traditionally burn sage during cleansing rituals to welcome in good spirits and dispel bad ones. Called smudging, the sage is burned in a bowl while prayers of gratitude and wellbeing are said aloud. The smoke is fanned with a hand or a feather over a person or throughout a living space to wash away negative energy or emotions.
