Boho Skateboard Bundle Set of 3

This bundle contains skateboard decks inspired by Kilim, Cactus Silk, and Indigo textiles. The Shell Psychedelic Kilim Skateboard is a replica of a Turkish flat tapestry-woven kilim rug originating from the tribal and nomadic cultures of Anatolia. Each region producing kilims employs its own distinctive patterns and colors in the rug design. The kilim weaving technique creates clearly defined geometric shapes which are highly valued by collectors. Kilims are used either as prayer rugs or purely for decoration. In recent years, these textiles have become an increasingly popular collector's item around the world.

The Ecru Cactus Silk Skateboard is inspired by our vintage Cactus Silk textiles, created by Berber people, indigenous to North Africa. Berber textiles can be identified by region and tribe, detailed with stripes and symbols. The small symbols seen here mimic traditional tattoos that adorn Berber women. The symbols have many meanings, such as longevity, fertility, protection against the evil eye, cures for illnesses, tribal association, and marital status. This textile is woven with silk made from the Sabra Cactus.

The Heart in Hand Indigo print is a replica of the popular St. Frank indigo textile from Burkina Faso. In ancient times, from opulent Egypt to stark West Africa, fabric has been dyed a mysterious, beautiful blue. This is a replica of our popular St. Frank textile; the indigo color, or "gold blue," is a symbol of the link between heaven and earth. Through a careful process, indigo can produce a vast palette of blue hues; traditional dyers would ask their customers' color preferences, from the palest sky to the deepest midnight. Dye vats alone take a full week to prepare and require daily stirring. The un-dyed cloth is pinched, sewn, and tied according to precise patterns.
