Using only natural pigments, our ombré pillows are made with hand-dyed linen to create these colorful pieces that are truly one of a kind.

Please remove the down insert before cleaning your pillow cover, then dry clean or hand wash with cold water. Hang to dry. Warm iron on reverse if needed.

Provenance

This piece was created and hand-dyed in western India. The fig hue is the result of a sophisticated double-dye process of crimson hues extracted from madder root, an ancient source of vegetable dye long-coveted by Asian and Egyptian monarchs, and grey hues extracted from harda, the fruit of the tropical almond tree also known for its ayurvedic medicinal uses. Artisans achieved the ombre shades of this piece by deftly tying the linen and varying the dye concentration and number of dips.
